Founded in 2004 by 11 professionals with industry background from Tandberg Television, Appear is now renowned in the European market for delivering the highest quality video with the lowest latency and power consumption. Headquartered in Oslo and with customers in over 100 countries, Appear is now launching operations in North America to support the growing need for live broadcast across the US and Latin America. Along with dedicated headquarters launching later this year, Appear already has a team in Nevada, California and Minnesota engaging with Tier 1 customers.
To scale up the North American business, Appear has recently appointed Ed McGivern as General Manager, North America, and Mark Andrews as Vice President of Sales for North America. Ed has extensive knowledge of the live production and contribution markets, with more than 25 years of sales and business experience at companies including Grass Valley, Nevion and Tektronix. Mark has an extensive technical and sales background, having previously worked at MediaKind, SeaChange, Ateme and Harmonic.
Since 2008, Appear has had on-going success in the US market working with the highly renowned partner, Sencore to deliver distribution and contribution solutions under the DMG brand. While Appear is launching its own North American operations and will sell directly to customers to meet the great demand for its products and solutions, Sencore will continue to be a strategically important and valued partner in the region.
