Oslo, Norway, Appear TV, a leading provider of next-generation video processing platforms for broadcast and streaming, is pleased to announce that Telefonica Servicios Audiovisuales (TSA), international provider of services to broadcasters, turned to Appear for their latest upgrades of their direct to home (DTH) and satellite contribution services.
In order to exceed customers’ expectations by delivering exceptional uptime and quality whilst offering future upgradeability, TSA decided to deploy the Appear XC Platform including its high bandwidth and high capacity modulator. With a large footprint and as a significant operator, the solution needed to be reliable and flexible in order to deliver a best of breed high quality content from regional broadcasters to their subscribers.

The solution features 17 carriers of DTH delivery, as well as 8 carriers for contribution, all equipped with Appear’s self-managed redundancy scheme. It is delivered and supported by Appears long standing business partner ADC in Madrid, Spain. ADC installed and integrated the XC Platform at TSA’s Satellite Communication Center, where ADC has upgraded the terrestrial stations in order to support the new transmission needs. “Our objective was to deliver a trustable and easy-to-operate platform to TSA” comments Mr. José A. Arribas, Satcom Director of ADC, “Appear´s platform modularity allows to easily expand its capacity to support the future needs of TSA”.
