Where Appear sits: the X20 platform handles encode and decode at both ends of the chain — replacing multiple discrete units with a single high-density chassis, and securing the feed end-to-end with BISS-2.

A flexible, secure, integrated deployment

Appear provided PSSI with multiple X20 chassis and a range of integrated functionality including encoding, decoding, satellite modulation and demodulation, ASI and Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) — giving PSSI a more flexible and secure platform for media contribution workflows.

As part of the project, Appear enabled PSSI to upgrade its video transport security to BISS-2, giving customers confidence that premium sports feeds are highly secure, with AES-128 encryption, dynamic key rotation and real-time receiver control.
